It is said that the lotus was the favorite flower of Elisabeth Severance, the wife of John L. Severance, for whom Severance Music Center is named. A symbol of purity and enlightenment, the lotus recurs throughout the concert hall, adorning terrazzo floors, light fixtures, and many other exquisite architectural details. Based on the original 1931 Art Deco designs, these earrings capture the enduring elegance of this Cleveland landmark.
